A Los Angeles Lakers fan decided to call the LA Clippers the ‘JV team' (junior varsity) of the city. Sure enough, it didn't sit well with Patrick Beverley.

On Twitter, Beverley — who recently agreed to a three-year, $40 million deal with the Clippers — had a savage response to the said Laker supporter and made the fan remember the team's record for the past two years.

There's a lot of truth to Beverley's statement. After all, the Lakers haven't made the playoffs since 2013. The Clippers, meanwhile, have qualified for the postseason seven times in the last eight years.

And Beverley was, of course, referring to LeBron James and the Lakers' young guns as the team's ‘big stars.' They failed to make the playoffs last year due to injuries and reported coaching problems.

Beverley has been with the Clippers since 2017 and has been a critical piece of their success. Along with his elite defense, the 30-year-old guard has also brought his mental toughness and tons of trash talk to the team.

The Clippers have managed to remain relevant after breaking up their big three of Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin a few seasons ago. As such, they've been tagged as preferred destinations among big-name free agents such as Kawhi Leonard.

Although time can only tell if they can seal the deal with Kawhi, their relative success in the past few years has revealed a ton about how they are a world-class organization.
