Patrick Beverley has been plenty aware of the Los Angeles Clippers' recent defensive struggles. A day after giving up 140 points to the Memphis Grizzlies, Beverley's team gave up 45 points to the New York Knicks in the first quarter on their own floor and 132 over the span of Sunday's game, something he knows his team will have to correct.

Montrezl Harrell has come out and said his team is not quite where it needs to be yet, but Beverley's long tenure in the league helps him grasp how this is part of the struggles of an 82-game season.

Asked what the Clippers could be doing better, Beverley had some fun with his answer:

“Don’t let them score,” said a joking Patrick Beverley before giving a more serious-minded answer, according to Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints. “There's lot we can do.. We just got to be up for the challenge every night. We got a lot of work to do. The sky’s the limit for us. We thrive on getting better. We will be better.”

The Clippers' defensive pitbull doubled down, noting it's not a crisis situation, but a matter of addressing these miscues with time and effort:

“I think we wake up every day knowing exactly who the f**k we are every night,” said Beverley. “It's just for us to go out there and put it together collectively as a unit. That takes time. But we will be better.”

The Clippers clearly still need to work out some of their kinks in the rotation, but having these issues before the end of the season is only something that will improve their overall form ahead of an awaited playoff run.
