Clippers’ Paul George, Patrick Beverley out vs. Kings

Clippers, Paul George, Patrick Beverley

Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George and guard Patrick Beverley will both not play against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday, according to ClutchPoints’ Tomer Azarly.

George has played in 34 games this season. The six-time All-Star is putting up 21.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.9 assists and shooting 42.6 percent overall, 39.4 percent from the 3-point line and 89.9 percent from the charity stripe.

Beverley, the heart and soul of the Clippers, has played in 40 games this season. The Chicago native is averaging 8.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists, all while shooting 43.0 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from beyond the arc and 63.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Beverley re-signed with LA this past offseason on a three-year deal worth $40 million. He also re-signed with Adidas on a new multi-year shoe deal in September. He doesn’t have a signature shoe with Adidas like Damian LillardJames Harden, and Derrick Rose, but he’s still one of the more high-profile players to have an endorsement deal with the company.

The Clippers are 37-18 on the season. They are in third place in the Western Conference standings.

For the first time in franchise history, the Clippers are legitimate title contenders with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George leading the way. The Clippers are already 2-0 against LeBron JamesAnthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers this season.

It is worth nothing that Clippers head coach Doc Rivers said before the All-Star break he was a little concerned about George since he’s hurt his hamstring a few times this season already.
