New Los Angeles Clippers point guard Reggie Jackson says his buyout from the Detroit Pistons was tough.

Jackson spent five and a half seasons with the Pistons and became a man in Detroit. However, with the team entering a rebuild after trading Andre Drummond at the deadline, the 29-year-old decided it was time to have a change of scenery.

Reggie Jackson will make his Clippers debut on Saturday against the Sacramento Kings. He may even start since Patrick Beverley is still hurt.

The Boston College product only played in 14 games for the Pistons this season because of a back injury. He averaged 14.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists while shooting 38.4 percent from the field, 37.8 percent from beyond the arc and 78.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Jackson has career NBA averages of 12.9 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Pistons. He becomes an unrestricted free agent after the 2019-20 campaign ends.

The Clippers are 37-18 on the season and in third place in the Western Conference standings. Jackson is close friends with Paul George and he has wanted to play with him for a while now.

Los Angeles has a few ball-dominant players on the roster, so head coach Doc Rivers is going to have his work cut out for him in the second half of the season.
