In the early 2000's, the Los Angeles Clippers were one of the hottest teams in the league. This was thanks in large part to the trio of Darius Miles, Quentin Richardson, and Corey Maggette — three young, talented, and endearing personalities that effectively made the Clippers a force to be reckoned with, both on and off the court.

The three former Clippers stars recently sat down for The Player's Tribune to reminisce on what they consider to be the glory days of the L.A. franchise.

At that time, the city was widely dominated by the Clippers' cross-town rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers, which happened to be one of the best teams in the league during that era, if not of all time. Nonetheless, for Miles, he believes that the chemistry they had on the team was what made the Clippers stand out.

“The reason that they liked us so much was because we were so competitive, but we play together,” said Miles. “We caught each other on the lives. We knew each other's moves like the back of our hand.”

These three go way back, as they all teamed up for the Clippers at the same time — during the summer preceding the 2000-01 season. Both Miles and Richardson were picked up by the team during the Draft (third and 18th overall, respectively), while Maggette arrived via a trade deal after spending his rookie year with the Orlando Magic.

The three instantly formed a bond — one that would last far beyond their time together as teammates in L.A. They may have not won any titles, but they definitely contributed to make the Clippers franchise what it is today.
