Andrew Vollert made a name for himself on HBO's “Hard Knocks” with the Los Angeles Chargers, but he's hoping to pave a path in his career with the Indianapolis Colts.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Colts have claimed Vollert off of waivers on Friday.

Both the Los Angeles Rams and the Chargers are the teams featured on this year's installment of the sports docu-series. In the first episode aired, Vollert became a “star” in the series after an emotional reaction to his release from the Chargers.

The animated tight end didn't need to wait long for another team to sign him, as he joined the Carolina Panthers. However, he was recently released by the Panthers, placing him on waivers for teams in the NFL. Instead of letting him clear waivers to make him an unrestricted free agent, the Colts are bringing him in for a possible roster spot.

Last offseason, Vollert began his career in the NFL as an undrafted rookie out of Weber State. The former Wildcat would sign with the Cincinnati Bengals, only to release him last May.

Then, the Chargers would claim him off waivers, giving him a chance to earn his keep in training camp. Sadly, he would tear his ACL during Los Angeles' preseason opener in 2019, sidelining him in his first year in the NFL.

There's no doubt that Vollert has been through quite a lot in his short time in the league. While it could be an uphill battle for him to make the Colts' roster, hopefully he can finally find a long-term place to call home.
