The central focus of discussion around the Indianapolis Colts over the last several months has been the health of star quarterback Andrew Luck. It has been a steady path toward recovery since the end of the 2017 season that has generated a strong level of optimism around the organization.

It has put into play the notion that Luck will be ready to give it a go at some point over the offseason as he has yet to throw a football. According to George Bremer of The Herald Bulletin, the 28-year-old has remained the course as he isn't expected be throwing at minicamp.

This shouldn't come as much of a surprise given that general manager Chris Ballard stated last week that Luck has yet to throw a football. Instead, he is still working on strengthening his arm while improving his flexibility and throwing motion before he performs that act in his recovery.

There doesn't appear to be any rush to get Luck through that point as there is still plenty of time for him to work through his rehab process. He has continued to take steps forward in his recovery that have been the organization much confidence that he will begin throwing at some point during the offseason.

The Colts have a significant amount of importance on Luck as the franchise quarterback for the long haul for the next several years. Prior to the injury, he had demonstrated the ability to carry the franchise to success behind his arm and leadership on the field. This alone has led to the team being patient with the process given what Luck brings to the table that can greatly positively impact the team.

What should be noted is that Luck is present at minicamp to at least be around the team in some capacity during the offseason that could turn into a greater involvement at some point over the next few months.
