Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard has some high praise for former running back Edgerrin James, who believes he should be in the Hall of Fame.

As a guest for Peter King's Football Morning in America, Ballard wrote the following:

“I think Edgerrin James not being in the Hall of Fame does not make sense to me. I have talked with one of our beat writers, Mike Chappell, at length about this. Chappell is a passionate advocate for James to get in the HOF and presents him to the HOF voting committee.”

In seven seasons with the Colts, James rushed for 9226 yards and 54 touchdowns. Ballard mentioned that James is one of four players to rush for 1500 yards in a season. Also, James is one of only seven players to have more than 2000 scrimmage yards at least three times.

James holds the Colts record for rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, rushing yards per game, and single-season rushing yards.

James also is a four-time Pro-Bowler, All-Pro, and an Offensive Rookie of the Year.

2019 was the third time that Edgerrin fell short of making the Hall of Fame.

James will get another chance in 2020 to be able to don the gold jacket, something that teammates believe should be an easy choice.
