The Indianapolis Colts have re-signed cornerback Pierre Desir, according to Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Desir is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he played all 16 games and finished with 79 tackles, an interception, a couple of forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and eight passes defended.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at little-known Lindenwood, was originally selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fourth round (127th pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Desir played in just five games during his rookie campaign, logging nine tackles. He then appeared in 14 contests during his second season, posting 36 tackles and five passes defended.

The Browns then waived Desir right before the 2016 season began, and he landed with the San Diego Chargers, where he participated in just three games before being cut in late October. He then made his way to the Seattle Seahawks, where he signed a reserve/future contract but did not actually play in a game with the team.

In September 2017, the Colts acquired Desir from the Seahawks, and he ended up playing in nine games that season, totaling 32 tackles, an interception and seven passes defended.

The Colts won 10 games and captured a Wild Card berth in the AFC this past season. They went on to defeat the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs before falling to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round.

Indianapolis was able to make the postseason in spite of a 1-5 start, as it reeled off victories in nine of its last 10 regular-season contests.
