The Indianapolis Colts improved to an even 1-1 as the AFC South franchise managed to defeat the rival Tennessee Titans on the road on Sunday afternoon. However, such a victory did not come thanks to any help from veteran placekicker Adam Vinatieri, who has struggled mightily to begin the 2019-20 regular season.

After leaving four points on the table in the Colts Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, Vinatieri missed a field goal, and extra point as his team began the year at 0-1 by way of an overtime loss on the road. Unable to indeed bounce back on Sunday afternoon in Nashville, Vinatieri missed two more extra points against the Titans while this is a lingering issue for the seasoned special teamer.

As a result, Colts owner Jim Irsay is officially concerned due to the struggles of his 46-year-old placekicker.

Ironically enough, though, the Colts were able to come away with the team's first win of the season due to a missed field goal from Titans placekicker Cairo Santos. Had Santos sank his missed kick earlier in the game, perhaps the Colts would have started 0-2 by losing 20-17 to Tennessee. Despite Vinatieri's continued struggles, the Colts are 1-1 while both he and the team still have more than enough time to right the ship in 2019-20.

Of course, the Colts are already severely short-handed as former quarterback Andrew Luck abruptly retired prior to the start of the 2019-20 regular season. Because the team's offense is a bit lackluster, the Colts can ill afford Vinatieri to underperform on special teams.
