The Indianapolis Colts got some huge news this morning, as quarterback Carson Wentz will be playing on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. The former Philadelphia Eagle and 2017 Superbowl champion was traded to the Colts in March of this year in exchange for a conditional second-round pick in 2022 and a third-round pick in 2021, which ended in another trade to the Dallas Cowboys.

Unfortunately for the Colts and Wentz, he suffered a foot injury and went into surgery on the 2nd of August. About a month after that, however, his coach Frank Reich told the media that Wentz is ready to play and will play on Sunday. He spoke to NFL.com on Friday and said this:

“As far as what he can do, he can do everything,” Colts coach Frank Reich said. “What will we actually call? Will we keep the reins on a little bit? Probably. Probably so. I just think that makes sense. I just think we'll manage it. We'll be smart. There's some stuff in (the game plan) that we might call, but if we don't have to call it — ‘Oh, let's not take that chance.' But I think he's good. Every indication is he's not limited in any way.”

When his injury was confirmed as a bone fracture, there were two options for his surgery, according to NFL.com. However, due to the fact that Carson Weltz did not have any structural damage after the bone was fragment was extracted, his return was set for four to six weeks since the surgery. So this is big news ahead of Colts-Seahawks.

As it was said previously, the Colts are set to kick off their season versus the Seahawks on Sunday, the 12th of September. With the first week of the NFL only a few hours from starting, fans are now getting excited.
