The Indianapolis Colts might not be involved in the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes, but that doesn't mean that they can't benefit from it. After all, should a certain NFC team acquire Watson, one of the better quarterbacks in the league could be headed towards them.

The Atlanta Falcons are one of the teams left in Deshaun Watson's list of teams he'd like to be traded to. Should the Falcons acquire Watson, NFL insider Ian Rapoport believes that Matt Ryan could be headed to the Colts in another trade. It would be an extremely intriguing move if Indy does pull it off. If the Colts do snag Ryan from the Falcons, it would be the perfect storm for the franchise. They'll get themselves an amazing quarterback without the potential off-field troubles of a guy like Watson. It might just be what the team needs in the wake of Carson Wentz's disastrous campaign.

Ryan quietly had a solid 2021 campaign last season for the Falcons. Despite a sub-optimal roster around him, Ryan threw for nearly 4,000 yards with a 67% completion rate, along with 20 touchdowns to 12 interceptions. With one of the better offensive lines in the league, a solid receiving core, and Jonathan Taylor,  the Colts are a perfect match for Ryan.

The Colts have been in the mix for some of the best quarterbacks available in the off-season. For now, though, fans are hoping that a different team gets one of the best quarterbacks, so they can get a star quarterback of their own.
