Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines broke free in the first quarter of his team's Week 16 matchup with the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, scoring on an 84-yard punt return on special teams (via NFL).

Hines, 23, a sophomore rusher out of NC State selected by Indianapolis in the fourth round of the 2018 draft, returned the Colts' first punt return for a touchdown during the 2019 season—in fact, tying them with four teams for the league-leading one punt return TD.

It was Hines' third touchdown of the season, as the 5-foot-9 running back has scored two on the ground for the Colts' offense.

Hines' score extended Indy's lead to two touchdowns against a deflated Panthers team, which saw its longtime head coach Ron Rivera fired earlier this season amid reports that the organization could be going through changes. That makes two, however, since the Colts should be experiencing changes at quarterback and potentially beyond in the offseason, too.
