The Washington Commanders found their new starting quarterback last week. Carson Wentz and two 2022 NFL Draft picks were officially traded from the Indianapolis Colts to Washington in exchange for a second and third round pick and a conditional third-round pick in 2023.

By joining the Commanders, Wentz is back in the NFC East, the same division that he spent his first five NFL seasons in with the Philadelphia Eagles. Being the away team at Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia is pretty daunting. However, Wentz is up to the challenge.

Senior NFL reporter Albert Breer tweeted his optimistic quote Thursday morning.

If there's anyone who knows how brutal Philadelphia fans can be, it's Wentz. Regardless, it sounds like he is ready to take on whatever they throw his way. Since the Commanders and Eagles are rivals within the same division, each team will take turns playing one another at its home stadium.

The Commanders quarterback saw the highest highs and the lowest lows during his Eagles career. The team eventually traded him to the Colts, and he spent one season there before being traded to Washington.

Last season, Wentz threw 322 completions for 3,563 yards and 27 touchdowns. He had a completion percentage of 62.4 with an average of 209.6 yards each game. He was sacked 32 times and threw seven interceptions, and the Colts were unable to secure a spot in the playoffs.

Now, Wentz will attempt to turn around the Commanders and his career with a successful first season in Washington.
