The Washington Commanders have been a possible destination for a big-name QB. The Commanders rumors picked up steam after head coach Ron Rivera said he'd be open to a Matthew Stafford-type move, such as the win-now trade made by the Los Angeles Rams. That begs the question- if Washington were to make a splash move at QB this offseason, what would they be willing to offer in a trade? The Athletic's Ben Standig wrote about Washington's shocking stance on a Chase Young trade amid their uncertain QB situation, per the latest rumors.

I think almost anyone on the roster is available if the result is Washington improving at quarterback. In Young’s case, that would mean the Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson level.

That is a shocking stance put forth by The Athletic's Ben Standig. The latest Commanders rumors seem to indicate that the franchise would be willing to trade Chase Young if it meant a major upgrade at QB, such as an Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson-type move.

Young, who amassed just 1.5 sacks after putting together a soldi rookie season, is the Commanders' best trade chip and most promising young defender. However, if parting ways with Young- or anyone on the roster- meant adding a quarterback capable of leading the team to a Super Bowl, then Washington would have to seriously consider such a move.

These latest Commanders rumors are shocking to, to say the least.
