Conor McGregor took advantage of the Facebook shutdown to reveal some surprising numbers on Twitter. The Irishman decided it was the right time to reveal the numbers from UFC 257.

The fight was a rematch against Dustin Poirier after the two fought back at UFC 178 in 2014. The contest was a strange one when it was booked and some weren't sure it would do very well since it didn't have as much animosity as Conor McGregor's previous fights.

McGregor leaked a document online that revealed that the projected buys were 1,5000,238. A very impressive number considering the rising price of pay-per-views but also because of the obstacles of purchasing one through ESPN+.

The actual number of buys was 1,504,737, according to the report that is. That amounts to 4,449 more than was projected.

The payout from that has not been revealed but it can be said that Conor McGregor received a hefty payday considering he also receives a cut from the pay-per-view buys. It's unclear exactly why McGregor leaked the numbers as it currently seems like more of a brag than anything else.

Conor McGregor has been vocal about wanting to be a bigger partner in the UFC and wanting a cut of the profits. It could be hypothesized that he was showing the numbers in order to prove his value.

The rematch didn't go his way as Dustin Poirier got the best of Conor McGregor, utilizing calf kicks to famously shut down the Irishman. The result would be a knockout victory for Poirier.
