There are a handful of top NFL receivers who will need new contracts soon, including Amari Cooper and Michael Thomas. Players often pay attention to what others at their position are getting around the league, but the Dallas Cowboys star said recently he isn't concerned with Thomas' situation.

“I’m not watching Michael Thomas’ pocket,” Cooper declared on a recent episode of the Dan Patrick show, per K.D. Drummond of the Cowboys Wire. “I think everything is gonna fall into place when it needs to,” he added.

There have been a lot of reports in recent days that the New Orleans Saints are inching closer to a deal with Thomas, but Cooper clearly isn't sweating it.

Cooper also said he wasn't going to comment on his quarterback Dak Prescott, who also needs a new contract, saying those negotiations were “above my pay grade.” Cooper emphasized he's just focused on football, adding “I really just try to…  you know what I try to do? I try to always be open, every pass play.”

While it would be understandable for Cooper to be anxious about his contract, it makes sense why he isn't. The Cowboys gave up a first-round pick to acquire the Alabama product last year, so they aren't going to let him walk away for nothing.

Owner Jerry Jones has consistently said they're going to extend him, and he holds all the leverage in negotiations. Dallas' passing game reached new heights after Cooper joined the team, and it's clear to anyone watching that they need him. Heading into 2019, Cooper is excited about the team's chances, which is all you can ask.

“We look good. We have a lot of pieces in place, a lot of young guys who are putting in a lot of work and just ready to go out there and fight,” he said.
