Cole Beasley is not thought of as a star by most NFL people, but some view him as one of the top possession wide receivers in the game. Many others also believe he is a respectable veteran and the kind of player every team would like to have in their slot.

That being said, the 5-foot-8 wide receiver made sure to make it clear that the Dallas Cowboys' wide receivers are not the problem with the team's offense this season. Ever since the release of Dez Bryant, the wide receivers in Dallas have been talked about as if there is no talent. Beasley wants that notion to end.

Beasley talked about the offensive woes and how the receivers are not at fault, via Stefan Stevenson of the Star-Telegram.

“We’re just getting open. That’s all we can do. If you watch the tape, that’s all you’ve got to do. A lot of people aren’t watching the tape. They’re just assuming. That’s fine.”

While those comments may clear up the wide receiver side of things, it begins to bring to question what the issue with Dak Prescott has been. If the receivers are open and the offense still isn't producing, what is wrong with the quarterback? Beasley did not take the bait and trample his young quarterback.

Beasley also talked about his frustration with how the season is going for the Cowboys and his particular role in the offense.

“Any receiver is frustrated when you get the ball three times. But any playmaker wants the ball and if they say they don’t they’re lying. Nobody is down in the dumps or anything. In our room, we get satisfaction out of getting separation whether the ball comes our way or not.”

Dallas is currently 1-2 on the young season and looking a bit rough on both sides of the football. There are still a few that believe they can rebound to make a playoff run, but that will be much easier said than done.

Expect to see Beasley and the Cowboys' offense get things figured out in the near future. They may never be an elite offense, but they are a lot better than they are currently playing.
