Dak Prescott has yet to speak publicly on the Dallas Cowboys' trade for Brandin Cooks from the Houston Texans, but the QB made sure to let his new wideout know what he feels about his arrival.

According to Cooks himself, Prescott immediately called him in the wake of his trade to the Cowboys to welcome him and share his excitement about their partnership. The Dallas QB also highlighted that he has a lot of respect for the 29-year-old wide receiver and that he can't wait to get to work with him.

“As soon as Dak found out, he reached out to me,” Cooks said of his new QB, per Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports.

As for Brandin Cooks' part, he also didn't hide his delight to join a Cowboys team that could very well be a Super Bowl contender this 2023 season. Cooks shared his belief that he could elevate his play in Dallas along with the other elite receivers of the team.

I'm extremely excited. I think it's a great fit. … I'm going to push (the other wide receiver) and they're going to push me. … I just look forward to getting started,” the veteran WR added, per Jon Machota of The Athletic.

Cooks, who as acquired by Dallas by sending a fifth and sixth-round pick to the Texans, had a down year in 2022. However, hopes are high that he can recapture his old form as he pairs up with Dak Prescott in a new situation and a fresh environment.
