Dak Prescott speaks out on being winless against winning teams this season

Cowboys, Dak Prescott

The Dallas Cowboys failed to make a statement against the New England Patriots in Week 12. As a result, they are still winless against teams that have a winning record so far in the 2019 NFL season.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding the Cowboys’ legitimacy as contenders in the NFC. Dak Prescott acknowledged the fact that they have come up short against teams that actually pose a challenge, via Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk:

“Yeah, we’ve got to get over the hump, simple as that,” quarterback Dak Prescott said. “Fortunately, in some way, we still control our destiny. So that’s the good part about it, and we’ve just got to figure it out and beat some of these good teams to put ourselves in position to make it to that tournament and to be able to beat those teams then.”

“I’m not going to sit here and dwell on our record,” Prescott said. “We’re a talented team; we’ve got confidence in ourselves. We’re going to get back to it tomorrow and worry about the Bills on Thanksgiving.”

There is certainly plenty of truth to Prescott’s comments. Dallas has the luxury of competing in a lackluster NFC East where their only competition has panned out to be the Philadelphia Eagles. However, the Eagles failed to capitalize after losing to the Seattle Seahawks in another abysmal outing from the offense.

The Cowboys will have another chance to scratch against a Buffalo Bills team that is 8-3 going into Thanksgiving. Much like Dallas, Buffalo is also trying to prove themselves as a bonafide playoff team following an impressive start to the year.
