Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is getting closer to filling out the rest of his staff by bringing in Scott McCurley and Jeff Blasko, according to Todd Archer of ESPN. McCurley is expected to have some type of role with the linebacker, while Blasko will be an assistant offensive line coach.

McCurley has a good relationship with McCarthy and McCurley first joined McCarthy's staff with the Packers in 2014 as an intern. He then filled the assistant linebackers coach from 2014-17.

It's worth noting, McCurley was a key reason Clay Matthews was able to transition from outside to inside linebacker. The Cowboys have some questions with their linebackers including if Sean Lee will be back for another season. If Lee is back, McCurley could be a great help for him.

Ben Bloom was the Cowboys linebackers coach last season and won't be retained.

Blasko also used to be apart of McCarthy's staff. He started working in 2016 as a coaching administrator and was later promoted to assistant offensive line coach. Blasko spent last season as an assistant line coach for the Cleveland Browns. It's expected he will be an assistant to Joe Philbin who is expected to be the offensive line coach next season.

The Cowboys haven't announced their coaching moves but it's also expected that Mike Nolan will be the defensive coordinator. Dallas has high expectations, so there is going to be pressure on all these coaches to get the best out of their plays immediately.
