Forbes has released their 23rd annual list of NFL franchise values. Mike Ozanian and Kurt Badenhausen compiled all the teams in the NFL, and it does not come as much of a surprise that the Dallas Cowboys top that list.

What might come as a bit of a surprise is just how much they are in the lead by. Adam Schefter of ESPN tweeted out a graphic to show the massive disparity.

Dallas has an absurd $1.3 billion lead over the second-place New England Patriots. The Cowboys are worth $5.7 billion and the Patriots are worth “just” $4.4 billion.

Obviously that is still a ridiculous amount of money. However, it is crazy how much the Cowboys lead over everyone else. It makes the other teams in the league seem like they are in a whole different category.

For context, the Cincinnati Bengals are the “least valuable” franchise in the NFL. They are worth $2 billion. That is almost as much as the Cowboys' lead over the second-place Patriots.

In other words, Dallas has almost another NFL franchise as the difference between them and the next team on the list.

The Cowboys are used to being near the very top of this list. And it is not shocking whenever we see them near the top. Dallas seems to just be bringing in more and more revenue at all times though, and they are not slowing down.

Now this raises questions for next year though. Will they be able to raise their value even more in 2020 despite not having a normal season with at the very best limited fan capacity?

And no matter what they do, how will it change their spot on the list? It's hard to imagine anyone will be dethroning the Cowboys at the top any time soon. That lead is simply too big to overcome in a year or two.

Will anyone be able to close the gap though and make a run for them? Or will Dallas just continue to dominate and extend their lead?
