Dez Bryant got emotional on Wednesday after learning that his former Dallas Cowboys teammate Marion Barber III has passed away at the age of 38.

On Twitter, Bryant shared a video discussing the death of Barber. It was quite clear in the clip how devastated he was after seeing a friend die while he sought for answers about what happened. In his caption, the former Cowboys wide receiver admitted that it was just “too much to digest.”

Marion Barber III was teammates with Dez Bryant for just a brief time in 2010. He moved to the Chicago Bears in 2011 and eventually retired in 2012.

The ex-Cowboys running back was found dead in his apartment by Frisco police on Wednesday. The cause of death has yet to be revealed, though it is worth noting that authorities checked on him due to a welfare concern after someone called due to a water leak coming from the unit, per Star Telegram.

Dallas has also released its official statement on the tragic incident, sharing how heartbroken they are because of what happened.

“Marion was an old-school, hard-nosed football player who ran with the will to win every down. He had a passion for the game and love for his coaches and teammates. Our hearts go out to Marion's family and friends during this difficult time,” the Cowboys said.

Our thoughts and prayers go to the family and friends of Marion Barber III.
