There's a lot of pressure on the Dallas Cowboys. After all these years of proclaiming that it was their season, they got bounced out by a young Green Bay Packers squad. All the other teams in their area like the Dallas Stars, Dallas Mavericks, and the Texas Rangers reached at least the penultimate round of their postseason. A disappointing season means a lot of shakeups in the roster, right? Well, that was not exactly the case for the Micah Parsons and Dak Prescott-led squad. There were not too many additions to Jerry Jones and Mike McCarthy's rotation.

A lot of Cowboys fans were actively looking for big moves from their team in the NFL offseason. Unfortunately, there was not much that Jerry Jones and Mike McCarthy did to change up their squad. In fact, there were more key losses than additions to them after free agency. This had a lot of fans livid and questioning their faith in the franchise. But, Micah Parsons told them to put the pitchforks down. The Cowboys defensive menace unveiled his thoughts on their lackluster offseason moves, via Jon Machota of The Athletic.

“It doesn’t disappoint me. If you figure out how the money goes and how the contract goes, you kind of understand that business side. I think CeeDee takes up the value of two or three players. You’re talking about $30 million-plus per year. If you do that, how can you afford to pay CeeDee Lamb? That goes on for other guys potentially,” he said about the situation that Jerry Jones and the Cowboys front office have to face.

There is also the looming contract extension that Dak Prescott has yet to sign. All of this mixed with trying to fill in the gaps in their 53-man rotation would definitely need some attention. Micah Parsons understands this and notices that they have all the firepower to make a run at the Super Bowl in the coming season.

“The mindset I have is we have seven All-Pros or however the count may be. It might be more, it might be less, we got at least three guys I know can be All-Pro. I think a lot of guys are going to have breakout years. I think that plays into it, too. When you talk about all these guys, it just leads to saying, ‘Hey, when are the other guys going to step up and be better for the team?” Parsons added.

As of the moment, the biggest impact signing that Mike McCarthy and Jerry Jones have reeled in is Tyler Guyton. Ryan Flournoy, Cooper Beebe, Justin Rogers, Marshawn Kneeland, Marist Liufau, and Caelen Carsen also come to mind as new members of the Cowboys after the NFL Draft.

Overall, Parsons still has a positive assessment of their offseason. It all boils down to executing their schemes properly regardless of how many big names play alongside him and Dak Prescott anyway.

“I like what we’re doing. I think just being out here today, people are definitely going to be very surprised how good we really are,” he concluded.

Will they surpass expectations despite these early concerns?
