Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira is likely looking at some significant discipline from the Premier League following some controversial antics in the aftermath of the Eagles' loss to Everton on Thursday. Everton, who secured their place in the Premier League for 2022-23, avoiding relegation with the win, saw their fans storm the field after the win. One fan appeared to get far too close to Vieira while celebrating the win, and he wound up taking a fierce kick from the former Arsenal legend and current Crystal Palace boss.

The excitement from Everton fans is understandable. The club has struggled all year long and was facing the prospect of relegation into England's second division. However, a turnaround at the end of the year, capped off with Thursday's victory, secures the Toffees' place in the Premier League for next season. Fans were overcome with joy and stormed the pitch to celebrate after the 3-2 win.

While the footage is rather grainy, you can clearly see the Crystal Palace manager walking off the field. An Everton fan then runs up and puts his hands in his face. That prompts the reaction from Vieira, who grabs at the fan and kicks him in the midsection before he was quickly swept away.

It's certainly a controversial incident and one which will likely see the former Premier League striker face some sort of punishment for his actions. While the fan was clearly out of line, Vieira's actions may have crossed a line in the eyes of the league. At the very least, expect him to be the subject of an investigation from the league.

Vieira refused to comment when asked about the incident by reporters after the loss.
