The recent updates regarding the status of the CBA negotiations between the MLBPA and MLB cast a glum outlook on the 2022 season. With Spring Training almost sure to be delayed, there's a serious worry as negotiations fail to progress that these delays could impact the regular season. Players' frustrations are beginning to mount and among those making their opinions heard is Chicago Cubs pitcher Marcus Stroman. Stroman sounded off on Rob Manfred and MLB in a fiery Twitter rant on Sunday morning, and he didn't hold back one bit with his criticism of the MLB commissioner.

In response to a report from SI's Tom Verducci, suggesting the regular season could very well end up being delayed, Stroman blasted “Manclown and his boys,” suggesting that they “need to figure it out and stop ruining the game of baseball.”

In addition to his scathing anti-Manfred comments, the Cubs pitcher agreed with a fan on Twitter who suggested that the commissioner was out of his depths in the current MLB landscape.

Stroman's critical comments come amid a slew of players beginning to voice their frustrations with the lack of progress made in lockout negotiations between the MLBPA and MLB. The lockout began on Dec. 1 and more than two months later there has been little to no progress reported. As Stroman so blatantly put it, the players feel that Manfred is ruining baseball.

Unlike some of his fellow colleagues, Stroman was able to sign a deal before the lockout occurred, latching on for a three-year contract with the Cubs. However, players who didn't sign with a new team have been anxiously awaiting the end of the lockout so they can figure out their next steps.
