After countless rumors, another team is being linked as a potential destination for Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antentokounmpo. Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard recently reacted to a tweet which indicated hopes for Antetokounmpo to go to the Rose City and pair up with Lillard on the court.

The two-time NBA MVP has been in the center of conversations on his looming free agency decision after the 2020-2021 season. His Bucks team was the clear favorite to emerge from the East, but eventually fell to the Miami Heat in five games.

Despite being a small-market team, Portland remains an intriguing destination due to their track record on the court. They have consistently been in the playoff mix for seven-straight years dating back to the 2013-2014 season despite the constantly moving pieces outside of the high-scoring duo of Lillard and CJ McCollum.

Their most recent campaign was different as they encountered several injuries to their key players which slowed them down in the early stages of the 2019-2020 season. Despite the adversity, Lillard led the Blazers to a successful last-gasp attempt to enter the playoffs as the eighth seed in the Orlando Bubble, where the Oakland native was eventually named as the unanimous NBA Bubble MVP.
