Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil for Marvel, pitched a fun, but unlikely, crossover with Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.).

While at Wales Comic Con (via GamesRadar), Cox spoke about his comics-inspired dream team-up. “I was actually catching up on some of the comics recently, and I was reading one from 2020 where Daredevil and Iron Man have a bit of a run-in together, which is quite fun,” he revealed. “I was thinking that would be very cool. I don’t think that’s possible now, because he’s dead, isn’t he? But you know, it’s Marvel, who knows. For a personal reason, I think that would be cool to have that little moment.”

As Cox acknowledged, Downey's Iron Man is dead in the MCU. He still went on to discuss Downey's impact on the MCU as a whole. “This whole cinematic Marvel kind of decade and a half, two decades, or whatever it’s been, where it’s really been a staple of so many people’s entertainment consumption, a lot of that I think is a credit to Robert Downey Jr. and the work he did with that character. That kind of, I almost sometimes think of Marvel as the House That Downey Built, you know what I mean?” he said.

Robert Downey Jr. played Iron Man from 2008 t0 2019. Since leaving the MCU behind, he's starred in the likes of Dolittle and Oppenheimer.

Meanwhile, Charlie Cox recently made his MCU debut in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home. He first played Daredevil in Netflix's series from 2015-2018. Next, he appeared in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and will appear in Echo. Cox will lead an MCU project, Daredevil: Born Again, down the line for Disney+.
