Derek Fisher will be a contestant on the 25th season of Dancing with the Stars. Fisher posted a photo on Twitter with partner Sharna Burgess and expressed his excitement at being a part of the show.

Fisher will be joined on the new season by former NFL star Terrell Owens, pro wrestler Nikki Bella, and former pop star Nick Lachey along with his wife Vanessa among anothers.

The 43-year-old Fisher was a five-time NBA champion, all with the Los Angeles Lakers, during his 18-year playing career. He spent two years as head coach of the New York Knicks following his retirement as a player, and has appeared as an analyst on TNT’s Inside the NBA, NBA TV, and Spectrum SportsNet.

Derek Fisher joins a growing list of former NBA players who have become contestants on Dancing with the Stars. Clyde Drexler, Rick Fox, and Metta World Peace have all taken part in past seasons.

But while NFL players have consistently done well and have won the entire competition on multiple occasions, Fisher will look to be the first NBA player to even finish in the top three.
