On Wednesday, Derrick Rose and his two friends Randall Hampton and Ryan Allen were cleared of charges in the now-infamous civil rape trial by a Los Angeles federal jury.
Despite nasty claims by both sides, the jury ultimately seemed to concede to the defense's argument that the woman in question did consent and was simply trying to take advantage of Rose's wealth. Rose had recently claimed that he worried about the woman doing just this after it happened.
The decision by the eight-person jury was unanimous, which was required to reach a verdict. According to the LA Times' report, it took almost three hours for the jury to decide in deliberations.
Now at the end of the two-week long trial, Carmelo Anthony will no longer have to pester his new teammates Derrick Rose about “hurrying up” to get back to the Big Apple.
