The Miami Dolphins had multiple blockbusters in store on Friday afternoon.

Miami had only just finalized a deal to send the No. 3 pick to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for the No. 12 pick, multiple future first-round picks and a 2022 third-round pick. General manager Chris Grier then turned around and used the newly acquired draft capital to move right back up in the draft.

Field Yates of ESPN reports the Dolphins are sending the No. 12 overall pick — plus a 2022 first-rounder and pick swap — to the Philadelphia Eagles for the No. 6 overall selection:

This could prove to be a win-win for both sides.

The Eagles now appear committed to Jalen Hurts as their quarterback, at least in 2021. Philly nabs an additional first-rounder in 2022 and should still be able to select one of the top receivers in a stacked class at the No. 12 spot.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins move back up so as to (likely) get the receiver of their choice at the No. 6 slot. Miami signed Will Fuller V in free agency, but still figures to add pass-catching talent for second-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

There is a very real possibility all of the top wideouts are available when Miami is on the clock. The first four picks in the draft might be quarterbacks, with the Cincinnati Bengals a candidate to select Oregon offensive lineman Penei Sewell at the No. 5 spot.

If that order holds true, the Dolphins could choose from the likes of DeVonta Smith, Ja'Marr Chase, Jaylen Waddle or Kyle Pitts.

One thing is clear: teams are starting to shake things up and be aggressive for the chance to land the player they desire next month.
