On Wednesday, the NFL announced both the American Football Conference and the National Football Conference Pro Bowl members. One player in particular has a million reasons to be thankful this holiday season. Miami Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard earned an extra $1 million after he was announced as a member of the 2021 AFC Pro Bowl team.

It was Xavien Howard's third Pro Bowl selection in the last four seasons. The only year in that stretch that he did not make the Pro Bowl was in 2019. He missed the majority of that season due to injury.

The Dolphins and Howard re-negotiated his contract this past summer. Howard's agent was able to work in the incentive that if he makes another Pro Bowl, he will automatically earn $1 million.

Howard joined Patriots' J.C. Jackson, Browns' Denzel Ward, Colts' Kenny Moore, Titans' Kevin Byard, Chargers' Derwin James and Chiefs' Tyrann Mathieu as the Pro Bowl defensive backs for the AFC.

The NFC is comprised of Cowboys' Trevon Diggs, Rams' Jalen Ramsey, Lions' Darius Slay, Saints' Marshon Lattimore, Seahawks' Quandre Diggs, Cardinals' Budda Baker and Vikings' Harrison Smith.

Howard has led the Miami defense once again this season. He has 4 interceptions, 14 passes defensed and 40 tackles on the season. The Miami Dolphins have won six straight games, primarily due to their defense.

During the win streak, the Dolphins have only allowed 79 points in six games. Four of those games their opponents were held to 10 points or less. It has allowed Miami to climb back into the playoff race at 7-7.
