Not too long ago, the Arizona Cardinals released defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche. Although his career numbers haven't been spectacular this was still a surprising move. The reason for that was simple, he was a first-round pick in 2016.

This seemed like they were giving up on him quickly, but reports of him showing up to training camp out of shape then made the rounds.

Now he's being given a second chance, as the Miami Dolphins have scooped up Nkemdiche.

The Dolphins could be a perfect spot for Nkemdiche to show his full potential. He should be able to carve out a nice role if he works hard.

Although Miami isn't projected to be one of the better teams in the NFL this year, they could definitely turn some heads. Josh Rosen is a project at quarterback that could go extremely well if he's given the time. They have a number of exciting players at different positions and now you can add Nkemdiche to that list.

Although he's coming off an injury, the good news for the Dolphins is that Nkemdiche did just have his best season in the NFL in 2018.

In just 10 games, Nkemdiche had career-highs in tackles (32), tackles for loss (4) and sacks (4.5). So although he had been a bust for the Cardinals, things were definitely headed in the right direction had everything worked out for the two sides.

Obviously, his on-field work wasn't the only issue for the Cardinals though. Now the question is how Nkemdiche will spend his time with the Dolphins. Will those issues go away? Will he continue to show improvements on the field like he did in 2018? He has a chance to prove everything is trending in the positive direction.
