Former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores shocked the NFL world when he announced a lawsuit against the league for claims of racial discrimination during his head coaching search. Not only that, but Flores accused Dolphins owner Stephen Ross of tanking and asking him to sign an NDA, or non-disparagement agreement, after he was fired by the organization. The newly hired Pittsburgh Steelers defensive assistant said that he lost out on millions of dollars by declining to sign the NDA, which he says would have basically “silenced” him. On Tuesday, the Dolphins firmly responded to Flores' NDA allegations involving Ross, via NBC Sports.

“This latest assertion by Brian Flores that Steve Ross mentioned an NDA to him is categorically false,” the statement said. “This just did not happen and we simply cannot understand why Brian continues this pattern of making unfounded statements that he knows are untrue. We are fully cooperating with the NFL investigation and look forward to all of the facts coming out which we are confident will prove that his claims are false and defamatory.”

The Dolphins firmly said that former head coach Brian Flores' NDA accusations are “categorically false”, essentially calling the Steelers assistant a liar. They said that Flores' NDA allegations involving Stephen Ross are part of a “pattern of unfounded statements” from the former Miami head coach.

Flores says he has evidence that he's willing to share with the NFL on Ross in their investigation on tanking. Could that be why the Dolphins offered for him to sign an NDA after he was fired? Or is Miami right about Flores' “unfounded statements?”

It's unclear how this investigation will end up, though the final result will be very telling about the NFL.
