If you haven't been paying attention to the Miami Dolphins season so far, one couldn't really blame you. However, in the midst of a tough season for the Fins, some hidden gems have emerged with one being wide receiver Preston Williams. The rookie wideout from Colorado State really introduced himself to the league on Sunday with five catches for 72 yards and a couple of touchdowns that led to Miami picking up their first victory of the season.

Unfortunately, Williams' day was ended prematurely as he was carted off the sideline midway through the fourth quarter as he was diagnosed with a sprained knee. Williams was scheduled to undergo an MRI on that knee today as the Dolphins hope that their silver lining in this rough season isn't going to be sidelined for long.

The 22-year-old receiver entered the 2019 draft after just one season at Colorado State where he caught 96 balls for 1,345 and 14 touchdowns. Despite having impressive numbers, Williams went undrafted in 2019 but eventually found his way to Miami where he was able to make the 53 man roster. Williams made his debut in the first game of the season against the Baltimore Ravens and caught three balls for 24 yards.

Although Miami would love to hold that top spot in the upcoming draft, getting Williams back on the field to further develop his skills as an NFL receiver should be a priority. When the Dolphins do become competitive again, they will hope that Williams is very much apart of their success going forward.
