Ryan Fitzpatrick had a tough time getting himself ready to practice on Saturday after hearing the news of his mother passing. While Brian Flores walked with him off of the field before practice, the Miami Dolphins head coach shared what his message was to Fitzpatrick, per Clay Ferraro of WPLG.

On Saturday morning, the Dolphins were gearing up to take part in their intra-squad scrimmage. But before the team began the practice, Fitzpatrick was given the tragic news that his mother passed away.

Once he found out the news, Flores was seen walking with Fitzpatrick off of the field as the veteran quarterback was visibly distraught. The second-year head coach told him that there are times when you can't be strong.

In all likeliness, Fitzpatrick was ready to go to battle with his teammates in practice before hearing that his mother passed away. However, some things are bigger than football and family is what matters most. At the least, Flores and the rest of the team are supporting Fitzpatrick as he takes time away from the team.
