The Dota 2 Major will return to Kiev, Ukraine, more than four years since its last hosting. This time, WePlay Esports will serve as the host for the Dota 2 ‘Animajor.'

Dota 2 Major Season 2 Dates: June 2-13, 2021

WePlay's Dota 2 Minor during DPC 2021 proved to be one of the most successful. Their fantastic usage of memes and high entertainment value help keep their fans entertained, even between matches. Thanks to their performance, Valve allowed WePlay to host the Dota 2 Season 2 Major. The Major will be held from June 2 to June 13, 2021. However, because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the tournament will proceed with closed doors. Audience will only be able to watch the entire tournament through the WePlay live streaming channels like on Twitch.

The WePlay Esports AniMajor will have a $500,000 prize pool, along with a pool of 2,700 DPC Points. The top teams of each of the regional leagues will find their way to the Major. Competing in the Major will help secure the chances of teams in getting to The International, which Valve has just confirmed to push through this year. Winning a Major will most likely punch a team's tickets to The International, which makes competing in this tournament a big deal for any professional Dota 2 team. More details about the Major will arrive in the coming months. Leading up to the tournament, organizers usually reveal the talent pool, as well as any promotional activities or events that will be held during the tournament.

WePlay also announced a Reddit AMA on June 16, 2021, at 21:00 CET (12:00PM PT). WePlay Esports General Producer & CVO Maksym Bilonogov, and Lead Esports Managers Anton Tokarev and Vitaliy Bozhko will be present during the AMA.
