Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has never been one to hold a younger player's hand or gently acclimate them to what has been, traditionally, a culture of winning.

He certainly will not start with Andrew Wiggins.

Green alluded to the media's presentation of Wiggins as a bust by pointing out his desire and the fact he's been a 20-point scorer in the league.

In typical fiery fashion, Green also unleashed some expletives in saying the Warriors do not have to nurture Wiggins' knowledge of the game or get him up to speed, so to speak.

The Warriors acquired Wiggins in the deal that sent D'Angelo Russell to the Minnesota Timberwolves prior to the NBA trade deadline.

Wiggins began his Warriors career with a nice three-game stretch before the All-Star break, averaging 23.0 points, 4.0 assists and 2.3 steals while shooting close to 58 percent from the field.

Granted, Wiggins will eventually be seen as the third scorer once Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson return, though that might also serve to benefit his game on both sides of the ball.

The former No. 1 overall pick has already embraced getting a fresh start, and head coach Steve Kerr lauded the acquisition as one that should suit both Curry and Thompson when they return to the rotation.

This will certainly be a new situation for Andrew Wiggins, who was previously looked at as a second star beside Karl-Anthony Towns. However, he struggled to gather any real consistency during his five-plus years in Minnesota.

In any case, Draymond Green understands his new teammate is well aware of how to compete at a high level.
