As NBA free agency has reached a fevered pitch with Kevin Durant‘s announcement to leave Oklahoma City behind, one of the game's greatest is on the verge of retirement. Tim Duncan, the 15 time All- Star, 5 time Champion, and widely regarded as the best PF to ever play the game, has been hinting to close friends and Spurs officials that he's thinking about retirement. Apparently he is now leaning closer than ever, as he displays the demeanor of a man obviously in the twilight of an illustrious career.

If and when Duncan announces his retirement, he won't be giving any exclusive press conferences. As Duncan has been classified throughout his entire career, there wont be much hoopla in his decision. “The Big Fundamental” will be gone, and we will know  he's not coming back. That's just “Timmy”.

How much influence is Durant's decision having on Duncan? That remains to be seen. Duncan averaged career lows in points, rebounds and blocks this past season, as the Spurs were bounced from the second round by the former Durant led Thunder.
