As if the pandemic-induced sports content void wasn't enough of a reason to be excited about ESPN moving up the premiere of āThe Last Danceā to April 19th, retired NBA legend Dwyane Wade pointed out another.
āMJ doc yesterday! 4/20 today! These are the best two back to back days Iāve had in a long time. Enjoy,ā the Miami Heat legend wrote in a tweet on Monday.

The Chicago-native was clearly a big fan of the first two episodes of the docuseries. āIf I had 3 wishes in life. I think I would have asked for #TheLastDanceā, he tweeted. In another tweet, he wrote Jordan āwas chosen to be the GOAT.ā
Man MJ had it! He had that āITā He was chosen to be the GOAT

Wade also threw up an Instagram post showing love to Scottie Pippen. āY'all better stop disrespectingā the Hall-of-Fame wingman, Wade reminded his followers.

Wade idolized Jordan as a young hooper growing up in Chicago during the 1990s, and his midrange and post game is directly influenced by Jordan. In 2016, Wade told ESPN that he believes that other great NBA playersālike his good pal and former teammate LeBron James, for instanceācould only hope to ātieā Jordan for G.O.A.T. status. (Notably, the Los Angeles Lakers star and active threat to MJ's status as greatest basketball player ever has not yet commented publicly on the documentary.)
I hadn't previously heard Wade express an enthusiasm for marijuana-related products prior to the 4/20 tweet, though clearly he's excited about the date for some reason. Wade's retirement has consistently seemed to be going extremely well, and it sounds like his quarantine is going just fine, too.
