AJ Brown responds to Miles Sanders calling Eagles an ‘All-Star team’

AJ Brown, Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles fans should be excited for the upcoming season. With a refreshed roster around young quarterback Jalen Hurts, there’s plenty of reasons to think the Eagles will take a step forward this year. Eagles running back Miles Sanders made it clear he agrees, dropping a bold take that Philly’s roster is an “All-Star team.”

Star wide receiver AJ Brown responded to Sanders’ take via Twitter and was quick to slow his new teammate’s roll.

Obviously, Brown’s response is aiming to be more humble than malicious. In a roundabout way, he’s really saying that the team still have something to prove.

Sanders’s take may be a slight overreach, but his excitement about the upcoming season is justified. General manager Howie Roseman has retooled the roster around Jalen Hurts in an exciting fashion. Adding Brown, one of the best young receivers in the league, will instantly boost the Eagles’ potential on offense. Adding fresh faces on defense like Haason Reddick, Nakobe Dean and Jordan Davis should help balance the playing field as well.

Philly went 9-8 and lost 31-15 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round last season. Under center, Hurts took a huge leap forward, throwing for over 3,000 yards with 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions. With the addition of Brown and the likely improvement of sophomore receiver Devonta Smith, it’s easy to see why Eagles fans are expecting a big season from Hurts and the entire roster.

In a typically weak NFC East, the Eagles have a clear path to a playoff berth and perhaps a divisional title. They might not be All-Stars yet, but there could be big things in store for Philly.
