The Philadelphia Eagles have not had much luck when it comes to injuries this season, especially on the offensive side of the football. In Week 14, the Eagles suffered another major loss when star wide receiver Alshon Jeffery went down with a foot injury. Now, we have more clarity on what Jeffery will have to do to recover.

According to a report from Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Jeffery will require surgery to fix the Lisfranc injury that he suffered. This is disappointing news for Jeffery and the Eagles.

Obviously, the Eagles are losing Jeffery for the season. They will have to figure out how to keep their offense relevant with Nelson Agholor, J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, and Zach Ertz being the top targets. Philadelphia is still competing for a playoff spot in the NFC East, but this is certainly going to throw a wrench in those hopes.

With his season coming to an end, Jeffery will finish the 2019 season with 10 games played, 43 receptions, 490 yards, and four touchdowns. The numbers aren't what he was hoping for, but this will simply provide more motivation to come back even stronger next season.

Hopefully, the surgery goes well and the Eagles will get a 100 percent healthy version of him back for next year. Even if they miss the playoffs this season, the pieces are in place for Philadelphia to remain competitive next season, assuming they stay healthy.
