The Philadelphia Eagles have not been a great offensive ballclub this season, as they rank just 20th in the NFL in total offense.

This comes as a surprise to many, as the Eagles were widely expected to have a rather explosive offensive unit in 2019.

Obviously, that has not been the case, and Carson Wentz is tired of it.

“It seems almost every week it’s something different,” Wentz said, according to EJ Smith of The Philadelphia Inquirer. “We’re either shooting ourselves in the foot, I’m turning the ball over, missing throws, you know, that is the situation. It’s the consistency. The lack of it is frustrating.”

Philadelphia did score 31 points last weekend, but that came against the lowly Miami Dolphins, and Philly still lost. In the two weeks prior to that? The Eagles scored just 19 points combined in losses to the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.

To be fair, Philadelphia has its fair share of injuries this season, but that doesn't excuse its offensive ineptitude.

It also doesn't help the Eagles' case that their defense has been dreadful for much of the year, particularly in the secondary.

As for Wentz? The 26-year-old has thrown for 2,840 yards, 20 touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 62.4 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 90 on the season.

Not terrible numbers, but also not what most expected from the fourth-year pro who is two years removed from being in the MVP conversation.

Philadelphia is currently 5-7 and will take on the New York Giants on Monday night.
