Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni led his current team to the Super Bowl in February 2023 when the Eagles lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Since then, Sirianni has impressed fans across the National Football League with his coaching acumen, only to come up short in the postseason. On Tuesday, NBC Sports Philadelphia shared a video of Sirianni speaking about a favorite retort to Giants fans that he has been using lately, with the goal of hitting them right between the eyes over their loss of a key player this offseason.

The information was revealed during a time when the Eagles' riskiest offseason venture was revealed. The NFL's ruling on Falcons, Eagles tampering cases was also revealed to be imminent.

Sirianni's chirp is based off of this off-season's dealings in the free agent market.

Sirianni's quip directed at Giants fans

Sirianni's quip is focused on the Giants' loss of Saquon Barkley this offseason. Barkley decided to take his talents to the City of Brotherly Love instead of staying in New York. According to the current Eagles coach, the five-word phrase is simple to say and devastatingly effective: “We got your best player.”

Last season, the Eagles beat the Giants in Week 16 but lost to them in Week 18. Barkley rushed for 80 yards in a losing effort in the first matchup and later rushed for 46 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-10 Giants win.

Eagles preseason schedule set

The Eagles will unofficially open the 2024-2025 NFL season on Friday, August 8 against the Baltimore Ravens, followed by matchups with the New England Patriots and Minnesota Vikings. The Ravens will make for an excellent litmus test for Coach Sirianni's team while the Patriots and Vikings should provide plenty of entertainment and novelty factor with rookie quarterbacks Drake Maye and JJ McCarthy leading their respective teams.

The Eagles open the regular season with a prime time Friday night matchup against Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers followed by the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While the first game appears to be a tough one, the next three appear to be much easier for Coach Sirianni's team as they look forward to breaking in their new superstar running back.
