The NFL general managers had a bit of an unwritten rule about dress code during the 2020 NFL Draft, according to Tennessee Titans general manager Jon Robinson. That is until Howie Roseman of the Philadelphia Eagles ruined it all.

Robinson texted a few general managers a few hours before the draft to confirm that they were going casual for the draft:

“We're not getting in a suit, right?” Titans GM Jon Robinson remembers texting to a few peers in the hours before the draft via Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

Most GMs seemed to get that memo except for Roseman who still had his suit and tie on. Robinson let him know about it texting him to tell him how bad he was making everyone look.

“You're making us look bad,” Robinson jokingly told Roseman.

Wearing the suit wasn't the only thing that Roseman felt some pushback from. There were some Eagles fans who questioned his pick of Jalen Hurts, but that was something he expected push back with.

Speaking to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Roseman said he hopes that fans would go back and watch some of his highlights, and realize how special of a player they had.

“I knew at first it would be like that, but I thought our fans when they go back and watch highlights of this guy play and go back and listen to him talk and see how successful he was in college and what kind of playmaker he is and what kind of person he adds to your culture and what kind of teammate he is, I thought it would be—kind of like there would be excitement because this is one of the best players in college football over the last four years. And so I am a little surprised, but I also understand it is only because they want to win right now and I have a different job.”

With the pick of Hurts and wearing a suit, there were a lot of people who were questioning Roseman's decision through the draft.
