Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Randall Cunningham knows a thing or two on just what makes a formidable passer in the NFL. Whether it was during his playing days or now watching as a fan, Cunningham has seen some of the best and most efficient quarterbacks in league history.

With what he has seen so far from Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, Cunningham believes that the second-year talent has what it takes to shine in Philadelphia, which he spoke further about to the NFL Network’s “NFL Now” program.

“I'm all-in with Jalen,” Cunningham said. “I love him as a person, his character. I've seen the interviews that he has done. I love his ability, I have watched him since he was at Alabama then Oklahoma. And then to see him go to Philly, I'm like ‘wow, what a blessing.'”

Hurts was continually in the rumor mill over the past year in regard to a possible departure from the Eagles, but team general manager Howie Roseman later confirmed that the former Alabama Crimson Tide star will be under center for the team in the upcoming 2022 season.

In the big picture, Cunningham backs the former College Football Playoff national champion and also aspires to see the coaching staff remain patient with his development as a quarterback.

“They just need to give him time to develop,” Cunningham said. “Everybody wants the right-now quarterback… I support him 100 percent.”

More so, Cunningham further noted that the Eagles should simply let Hurts “be himself.”

Hurts is coming off of a season where he earned the starting quarterback job for the Eagles and did not look back from there. In his second campaign with the Eagles, the former Sooners passer played in 15 games, recorded 26 total touchdowns and guided the team to two game-winning drives. He went on to help lead the Eagles to an appearance in the playoffs, where they faced an early elimination following their NFC wild-card defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It sure will be noteworthy to see on whether the Eagles will go on and follow Cunningham’s advice to simply remain patient with Hurts’ development.
