Jalen Hurts bolstered his MVP case for the 2023 NFL season Sunday night when he put the Philadelphia Eagles on his back and led them to a 37-34 come-from-behind victory over Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. Hurts showed no sign of quitting, as he stepped up to deliver one notable play after another, especially in the clutch, to help Philly secure the thrilling win.

With his memorable performance in the Bills game, Hurts left Eagles fans and his teammates, including Eagles right tackle Jordan Mailata putting him ahead of everyone else in the MVP race.

“One-hundred percent, that dude should be [MVP],” Eagles right tackle Jordan Mailata stated following the game (h/t Tim McManus of ESPN). “I don't know the requirements, but I know he's got the best f—ing record out of all the MVP candidates.”

Hurts stepped up for the Eagles when they needed him the most, with the star quarterback tossing two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to get Philly the lead for the first time since the second period. The Bills got the lead back with a Gabe Davis touchdown grab with a little under two minutes in regulation before Hurts led an Eagles drive that ended with a game-tying and overtime-forcing field goal by Jake Elliott. The Bills scored first via field goal in overtime then Hurts ended the night with a game-winning touchdown run.

The Eagles are not without flaws, but with a touchdown machine in Hurts, they just keep on finding ways to win games.

The 10-1 Philadelphia squad will turn its attention to Week 13 opponent San Francisco 49ers.
