When the Philadelphia Eagles traded for Jordan Howard it looked like he would be the lead back and going into a contract year that was good news for him. The Eagles offseason wasn't done though in terms of running backs and they drafted Miles Sanders out of Penn State with their second round pick.

Sanders is going to get playing time this year which could cut into Howard's production and his next contract. For many, that would be a problem and could be really frustrating but the former Chicago Bears running back seems to be taking it in stride.

“It doesn’t worry me at all,” said Howard, who turns 25 in November via theintell.com. “I’ve just got to focus on the year here. I can’t worry about being a free agent or nothing like that. Just got to focus on the season ahead.”

Howard actually seems excited to work with Sanders because of how well the two players complement each other based on their unique skill set.

“I feel like we complement each other very well. He’s very shifty but at the same time powerful. He can do a lot of things, but I just feel like we’ve got a great group of guys in the room.”

Last season with the Bears Howard rushed 250 times for 935 yards and nine touchdowns. It's unclear how the reps will be split next season with the Eagles but as long as he gets his opportunities he should be able to prove he deserves a long term deal somewhere.
