The Philadelphia Eagles are set to have star quarterback Carson Wentz back in the fold for Week 3 action against the Indianapolis Colts in his first game since suffering an ACL and LCL tear last December.

There has been much more importance on his health, especially aimed him working toward avoiding being put in compromising positions for his body. According to Jarrett Bell of USA TODAY Sports, former Eagles great quarterback Ron Jaworski believes that Wentz didn't do a well enough job of protecting himself from preventing any significant injuries.

“He didn’t do a good job of protecting himself,” Jaworski said of the pre-injury Wentz. “I’ve been in that position. You think you can make every play. That’s what make him a special talent.

“What should he do now? I tell people to look at a Peyton Manning tape, because availability is as important as dependability.”

This is the first major injury of Wentz's career, which likely put him in the position of not thinking about playing in a different fashion to help preserve his health for the long haul. Instead, he had operated more in a free-flowing manner without any true concern that he could be putting himself in positions where injuries are suffered.

This was the case in his ACL and LCL injury as he chose to dive headfirst to the end zone against the Los Angeles Rams where he was sandwiched in a tackle between two defenders. It was a spot that he could have avoided if he had taken a more safe approach to the entire situation.

That said, this injury has changed his perspective on how to handle things moving forward in his career he will have to move more carefully with his knee. It may not change his playing style, but it puts a great deal of importance on maintaining his health.
