The Philadelphia Eagles have a golden opportunity to move into a tie with the Dallas Cowboys for first place in the NFC East when they face the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, but based on the way the Eagles have played this season, nothing is guaranteed.

To make matters more difficult, they may be without a couple of their best offensive players.

According to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk, tight end Zach Ertz and running back Jordan Howard are both listed as questionable for Philadelphia's pivotal road game this weekend.

Ertz is dealing with a hamstring issue that he played through against the Seattle Seahawks last week, but he missed a couple of days of practice this week and was limited on Friday.

Meanwhile, Howard has been nursing a stinger and did not play in the Week 12 loss to the Seahawks. He has been limited all week.

The good news is that Ertz has been playing through the injury, so there seems to be a chance he will fight through it and try to play against the Dolphins. Howard's situation, on the other hand, seems a bit bleaker.

Philly will be getting wide receivers Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor back for their Sunday tilt, so that's obviously beneficial, but if they get two players back and lose two other players in the process, it will essentially be a horizontal move for the Eagles, if not worse given the importance of Ertz and Howard to the offense.

The Birds are just 5-6 on the year.
